Adorbs Layout

Hello! Every year on Valentine's Day, I prepare a gift bag for my daughters with things they love and I photograph them while opening them. It is always amazing to look back at the photos and see their expressions. Today I'm sharing with you a layout I designed using the Heartstrings collection by Simple Stories. My youngest daughter is a sweetie, and this collection is perfect to document these adorable photos of her. While doing the layout, I recorded the process video, and you can watch it at the end of this post.

The first thing I did for this layout was selecting the photos. From there I started looking through the collection for patterned papers and the colorful floral paper catch my eyes. I decided to use it as the background but since it is so busy I only used it as a frame for my white cardstock. Then, I noticed it needed something to create contrast between the white cardstock and the floral paper, so I added a Color Vibe Tomato cardstock between them. After that, I selected an orange crisscross patterned paper from the 6x8 pad to mat the photos.

Since I love adding patterned papers to my layouts, I chose other designs to complement this page. I cut them in different sizes to create interest and mixed contrasting colors and patterns to give every piece of paper the opportunity of being seen. From the 6x8 pad I used the polka dot craft paper and the white paper with hearts. From the 12x12 kit I used the red polka dot paper, the light blue with flowers, the tags paper and the fuchsia papers. Aren't these papers gorgeous? To enhance the fuchsia paper, I added a scalloped border made with a paper punch and a piece of Robbin's Egg Color Vibe cardstock.

When all the papers were ready, I started embellishing the layout. For that, I used different products from the Heartstrings collection. In the bottom corner you can see a cluster with die cuts, cardstock stickers, foam stickers, chipboard, decorative brads, and enamel dots. Behind most of the pieces I used foam tape to give them dimension and make the layout interesting for the eyes!

Below the photos I used a foam sticker banner to help them be the focus of the page. On top of the photos, I added the title and embellished the area a little bit to make it prettier and help the viewer move around the layout. You can find a mix of products around the page because is a simple way of adding textures to the layout and since all the products have different heights, they help me create layers and interest. To embellish the tags, I used twine in pink twine to complement the colors in the layout.

The last detail on this layout is the stitched white border around it. It's a simple way to finish the layout and also to secure all the base papers together.

Take a look at the process video of this layout to see how it comes to life and how pretty this collection is.

Thank you so much for your visit. I hope you like this layout, and it inspires you to craft! Come back soon for more inspiration!
