Jolly Layout

Merry Christmas! Hope you are having a wonderful day. As I mentioned before, we love visiting Disney, especially during the Holidays, when all the Christmas decorations are on. Today I'm sharing a layout I created with the amazing Say Cheese Classic Mouse Christmas collection by Simple Stories. No matter if you don't have Christmas photos in the park, this collection works perfectly with any photos and will help you document your memories beautifully and creatively.

One of the main embellishments in this layout is the figures of Mickey and Minnie. I created them using the new Spellbinders coordinating dies available for the Say Cheese Classic Mouse collections. For the Christmas version of the collection, they designed an add-on die set that allows you to embellish the figures with Santa's hats, holly, ornaments, and scarves. It took me some time to assemble the characters, but it was worth it. They are gorgeous, and I customize them to create different projects. Aren't they adorable?

Since I wanted to use the characters in the layout, I decided to print my photos in different sizes to fit Mickey and Minnie under them. For the background, I selected the white paper with gray scrips and designs. Then I used the plaid paper to create a border around the layout for a better finish. To help the photos pop from the white background, I matted them using the candy cane and red papers from the 6" x 8" pad.

Something I enjoy doing in my layouts is adding layers and textures. In this one, I stitched a black border around the white paper. I like the look it adds to the page! Once the main elements of the layout were ready, I started embellishing it. On the bottom edge, I added two strips of paper to give the characters and anchoring placement. Then, I cut the mint "Merry" card and the green gingham piece from the 6" x 8" paper pad. I arranged them a little bit tilted and fit them behind the paper strips on the bottom.

To balance the layout, I added a foam banner and the title to the left upper corner. I used a few snowflakes from the die cuts to enhance the area, some decorative brads, enamel dots, and foam stars. Behind the big photo, I created a pocket to fit a tag with the journaling.

At the end, I added some little details around the clusters to make them prettier, like the stars and hearts around Mickey and Minnie.

This is a clean and simple layout, very easy to recreate. If you don't have the dies, you can use the die cuts and/or stickers from the collection, and they are going to work perfectly. Just take some time to craft and enjoy the moment!
