Hi! Today I'm sharing with you a happy and colorful layout created with the Take Note collection by Simple Stories. Have you seen this new collection? It's gorgeous and incredibly versatile, allowing you to use it all year to document your memories.
In this layout, I'm using two photos of my family in Las Vegas. To help them pop from the layout, I used the salmon paper from the 6" x 8" paper pad to mat them. Then, I looked for other contrasting papers to create the background of the page. For the upper border, I cut the papers diagonally to give them movement and distressed the edges for texture and interest. Behind the photos, I used three pieces of paper from the 6" x 8" pad to create the banners that anchor the photos.
Take a closer look at the patterned papers. They are lovely, and the colors are amazing!
For the title, I used a die cut tag to hold the phrase "Life Captured". To give the title dimension, I used foam tape behind the die cut. Then I added a scalloped border under the tag and the arrow pointing to the photos to help the eyes move around the layout.
Since the background paper has flowers in the bottom left corner, I decided to balance the page by creating a floral cluster on the upper right corner of the photos. I used flowers in different colors and sizes to make the cluster interesting without covering the patterned papers behind.
To balance the black in the layout, I added a chipboard camera from the Decorative Brads to the lower right corner of the photos, and two phrase stickers.
As always, I added a few small details to the layout at the end, like the decorative brads and enamel dots. Also, a few hearts from the foam and chipboard sticker packs.
This is an amazing collection that every crafter must have. I had so much fun creating this layout and playing with all the beautiful embellishments available.
