Hi!
Do you love texture, layers, and lots of details in your layouts? I surely do, and today I'm sharing with you my latest layout using the stunning Simple Vintage Junk Drawer collection by Simple Stories. If you enjoy the vintage look in your projects, you need to check this collection. The patterned papers are gorgeous, perfect for all sorts of vintage/elegant projects, including journaling, and the embellishments are amazing! Let's take a closer look at this layout while I explain how I created it, and if you enjoy process videos, visit Simple Stories' Instagram for the reel.
After choosing my photo, I selected the mint paper from the Simple Vintage Junk Drawer Basics. This paper has a subtle dot design in the background, adding interest to the page without any effort. Then, I used a yellow paper to mat the photo and an ephemera card. To add texture and support the vintage theme, I distressed the edges of all the papers.
On the left side of the layout, I used strips of paper from the collection in contrasting colors. I tore the edges of some of them for additional texture and interest. In the central area, I placed the photo and used other patterned papers to anchor it.
I printed the journaling on a card and tucked it behind the photo. After that, I used the rub-ons and the stamp to create a shadow around some areas, to enhance the design and the clusters.
In this layout, most of the embellishments are near the photo. On the right side, I used an ephemera card. It looks like I layered various tickets and cards, but it's only one piece. With a precision knife, I cut around the butterfly and tucked the label with the title behind it
Then, I finished the layout by adding other embellishments like the butterflies, flowers, circles, enamel dots, decorative brads and paint splatters.
I love using the Simple Vintage collection by Simple Stories. They are always elegant and help me create gorgeous layouts, full of layers and textures. The best part, the products are designed to help us achieve this look, with little or no effort! Isn't it amazing?
Thank you very much for your visit. I hope you like this layout, and it inspires you to craft. Please, come back soon for more inspiration.
