Love You Layout

Hi! Valentine's Day is coming, and this layout documents memories from last year. I used two photos of my daughters opening their presents on February 14 and paired them with the February products in My Life 365 collection by Bella Blvd. This collection includes two double-sided patterned papers for each month, so I coordinated them with some Bella Besties cardstocks to have more papers available and create this nice layout that shows LOVE everywhere. When I started working with this layout, I had the idea of cutting a big heart for my background. To accomplish it, I took some time to check the patterned papers and found coordinating cardstocks from the Bella Besties. As my base, I chose the white gingham paper to have a bright background that would make the papers stand out. On the upper part, I added a piece of the patterned paper with the rainbows and balloons, which is gorgeous! Then, I placed a thin strip of the striped design. This strip was cut from the cut-apart paper.

 

For the big heart, I chose the red dotted cardstock from the Bella Besties. This color is perfect to create contrast in this layout and help the photos stand out and be the focus of the page. I drew a heart on white cardstock and used it as a template. After fussy cutting the heart on the red cardstock, I stitched a white border around it for texture and to help it pop in the layout. Then, I changed the thread color to black and stitched a border around the layout to give it a better finishing look.

To mat the photos, I used a pink graphite Bella Besties cardstock. Then, I added two pieces of patterned paper behind the photos to create more interest in the area. Since the black dotted design was a strip on the cut-apart paper, I cut it in two and added one under the photo and the other to the right side. This gives the impression that it is a large piece of paper instead of a strip.

Once the papers and photos were ready, I added the title using the February die-cuts from My Life 365 Ephemera Words. Then, I started embellishing the layout. In between the photos I used the Bella Pops Be Mine ballon. The hints of blue in the clouds makes it stand out and look even prettier.

The other embellishments I used to enhance the title and create little clusters around the layout were the Ephemera Icons die-cuts, Epoxy Stickers, and the Puffy Stickers. I mixed them to have different textures and sizes to balance the clusters and the layouts.
