Happy Fall Layout

Hi!

Last year, we visited Disneyland in the fall. We took tons of photos, and this time I'm using two of them with the gorgeous Simple Vintage Autumn Breeze collection by Simple Stories to preserve those special memories.

To create this layout, I used white cardstock as my base and colored it with Distress Ink Dried Marigold and Peeled Paint. I diluted the paint with a little bit on water and added it to the cardstock using the kissing technique. Also, I added paint splatters in gold and brown using calligraphy ink.

Behind the photos, I added patterned paper from the 6" x 8" paper pad. I cut one of the photos into a circle and the other into a rectangular shape. I chose two different papers in contrasting colors and with small designs to help the photos stand out in the layout.

To create layers, I added other patterned papers in the central area of the layout, creating interest. For more texture, I distressed the edges of the papers. Then, I embellished the layout using the rub-ons, foam stickers, chipboards, decorative brads, enamel dots, die cuts, and stickers from the collection.

In the bottom corner of the photos, I created a cluster mixing flowers in different colors, sizes, and materials. By doing this, the cluster looks more interesting since it has more dimension and textures.

In the title area, I made another cluster using an ephemera die cut to anchor everything. Then, on top, I added a die cut label with a scalloped border and the foam sticker word. To balance the layout, I created another cluster, this time a little one, on the corner of the circular photo.

Then, to finish the layout, I added a plaid strip of paper behind the layout, then I torn the edge of the white cardstock to reveal it.

The Simple Vintage Autumn Breeze collection is gorgeous, and creating with it is very easy. It has a great selection of patterned papers and embellishments that will make any project a piece of art!
