Limber Chill Out Layout

 Hi!

Wow, I'm back in the blog this week, the fourth post in a row! That's a big accomplishment for me these days that I've been so busy, but I have managed to work on my layouts while supervising my toddler in virtual school. I made this layout using sketch #13 by Allison Davis. As you can see, this week I've been trying to catch up with her class since it is already in week 16. Since this is a paid class, I can't share the original sketch with you, but here is my interpretation of it.

I followed this sketch pretty closely to the original, especially to create the background using strips of paper. The sketch suggested to sew a border around the strips, but I decided to machine stitch in each of them to give it a quilt look. I used the 6" x 8" paper pad from the Sunkissed collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I love their products and, since we live in the Caribbean, it works perfectly for us all year along.

To help the photos stand out, I matted them using white cardstock, then a patterned paper, and, finally, vellum. For additional texture, I distressed the edges of all the papers. Once the photos were positioned in the layout, I started embellishing it with the flowers that I fussy cut from one of the papers. Some of the flowers were added with foam adhesive, others are flat in the page. I do this to add interest and dimension to the layout.

Then, I added the title using the foam gold alphas from the collection and the teal alpha stickers from Elle's Studio. For the teal stickers I used foam tape. After that, I added the banner from the die cut pack. A few blue flowers, wood buttons, some hearts from the die cuts and the puffy stickers, and finally a few Nuvo drops.

The journaling was printed and cut in stripes, then added to the layout using liquid adhesive. I love how this layout turned out, it is full of colors and looks as happy as my daughters. I hope it makes you happy and inspires you to craft! Thank you for visiting my blog and come back soon for more inspiration, I'll be doing my best to share a new layout tomorrow.
