A Magical Christmas Layout with Process Video

Hello! At the beginning of December 2022, we visited our favorite place: Disney World. Once we came back, I found the new Once Upon a Christmas collection by Miss Kate Designs, which is perfect for this trip, so I ordered it and received it last week. I have to tell you, it is gorgeous! I'm planning on making a mini album with this collection, but, in the meantime, I made this quick and beautiful layout for my daughter. If you want to see how I made this layout, check the process video at the end of this post.

I started this layout by cutting a white cardstock to 11 1/2" x 11 1/2". Then, I added it to the red solid paper from Miss Kate that coordinates with Once Upon a Christmas collection. After that, I chose the three patterned papers on the top. The cream-colored paper with the mouse head shapes is 4" x 11 1/2", the black with white dots and the striped papers are 2" x 11 1/2". I tore the bottom border of each paper and adhered them to the white cardstock.

To enhance the photos, I matted them in white cardstock and another tone of red from the solids pack. Since the patterned papers have the edges torn and folded a little, the photo can't be adhered flat, so I use foam adhesive. For the title, I used a die cut from the collection and used two pieces of foam tape behind it to make it taller than the photo.

On the right corner of the title, I made a little cluster using die cuts and stickers. In the video you can see my stickers look like die cuts. This is because I placed all of them on cardstock and then fussy cut them. I like to do this if the sticker paper is soft, this way I can move them until I'm sure to add them to my project.

Above the photos, I added a sticker circle also backed in cardstock. I also used foam tape to help it stand on top of the photos.

To finish the layout, I added black paint splatters using acrylic paint diluted in water. The crystal jewels are the perfect final touch to this project, I added a few of them in the cluster area.
