Holidays Layout

Hello!

It's almost Christmas day and to celebrate it, I'm sharing this layout I designed for Simple Stories using the amazing Simple Vintage Yuletide collection. I love the traditional and elegant look it has and how perfectly it matches with our Christmas family photo. If you want to watch how I made this layout, take a look at the process video at the end.

For this layout, I chose one of the chipboard frames to enhance the photo. This is a product I love to use in my projects because it always helps the photos stand out with the beautiful designs they have. The best part is how quick and easy it is to use them! Once my photo was ready, I chose the patterned papers I wanted to use for the background.

I started with one of the papers from the Simple Vintage Yuletide Basics Kit. This green paper is a great base for my layout, and it already has a subtle design that compliments the photo perfectly. Then, I selected two papers from the collection's kit, the plaid paper and the stripes papers. For texture, I distressed their edges.

After adding the papers to my base, I added the chipboard frame with the photo and started embellishing the layout. For that, I used three die cut ephemera pieces from the collection. These pieces give the impression of multiple layers, making my life easier since I don't have to mix and match things to create the layers, and the result is always gorgeous! On the upper part of the frame, I added a "25" from the foam stickers. I was trying it, but it got glued down, so I left it there because I didn't want to damage the frame. In the upper left side, I added a few flowers from the die cuts to create a bigger cluster in the area. To anchor everything, I added a doily behind the photo frame.

Below, you can see another piece of the ephemera die cuts. Isn't it beautiful with the music notes, the red polka dot strip and the text? I just love having this work done for me!

To embellish the frame and to balance the layout, I added a few floral die cuts in the lower corner and a sticker bird. The poinsettias in the collection are so pretty and made the layout look so elegant and pretty! At the end, I added the decorative brads, enamel dots, paint splatters and a little bit of torn washi tape in the top and bottom edge of the layout.

Let's take a look into the layout, to watch how I made it with this amazing collection.
