This week is sketch reveal at My Creative Scrapbook and I want to share with you the layout I made with it. Like every month, Laura Creates designed a beautiful sketch and I enjoyed using it. This month's design is perfect to use scraps because it uses many strips of paper in different width and length. I had fun making this layout and love how it looks. This cut file is really pretty, with flowers in different sizes that you can alter to adjust to your project. I'm very happy to share with you my first layout using the August Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook featuring Maggie Holmes Round Trip collection. This is a travel collection but it can easily by adapted to other themes. In this case, I used it for a photo of my husband looking at our daughter with eyes of love and it worked perfectly. Today is a happy day! It's reveal day at My Creative Scrapbook! Now you can see all the beautiful kits they prepared for this month. If you don't know about My Creative Scrapbook, they have a monthly subscription for different kits, depending on your style and the things you do, you can choose one or more subscriptions. Another thing about the kits, every month they provide a sketch to work with, new cut files, and lots of inspiration. Hi! I'm back again, this time with the second option I made for the summer cover of Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine. As mentioned in my previous post, I was invited to create one of the layouts they would consider for the cover and I was so happy, that I made two layouts to choose one for the submission. Thankfully they helped me choose one, because the votes at home were divided. The chosen one was the layout with the sunflowers cluster, but this one also reflects my style and I didn't want to throw it away so I decided to re-use it with new journaling and a photo of my daughters. The layout below is the re-used one and the other is the original (girl with sunflower). Stay with me, and let's talk about this layout!
Hello! Today I'm sharing with you a special layout. Well, this is the first of two layouts I made for the Summer cover of Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine. With every issue, they invite three designers to create a page that can be the cover of the magazine. You can imagine how surprised and happy I was to be considered for this. Mine was not the winner, but it was an amazing opportunity because I was considered alongside two other talented and well known scrapbookers like Nathalie DeSousa and Brianna Lepper. When they contacted me, I was so thrilled that I decided to make two layouts and choose one of them, so I made this with sunflowers to match the provided photo, and another with bright colors. I sent both layouts for them to choose which one they prefer, and the sunflower layout was the chosen one.
I wanted to re-use the layout, but this time with a photo of my daughters. Here in this post, you can see the original version published in the magazine and how I modified it with a photo of my daughters and new journaling, everything else is the same. Below you can see the re-used layout. I choose this photo because my toddler was wearing a sunflowers dress, this way the theme will work perfectly. So, let's check both layouts and talk about the design!
