Hi
Sometimes it is hard to choose only one or two papers to create a layout, so why not use a lot of them? For this layout, I used 8 different patterned papers from the Simple Vintage Holly Jolly collection by Simple Stories. Papers are my favorite scrapbook product, and using lots of them in a project is something I enjoy, especially when they are so pretty like the ones in this collection. Let's take a closer look into the layout while I tell you how I made it.
Since I was going to use so many patterned papers, I choose a white cardstock as my base to help the patterns in the papers be seeing. I cut the white cardstock to 11" x 11", then I backed it with a Basic cardstock from the Simple Vintage Holly Jolly collection. After choosing the papers, I tore the bottom edge of each paper and distress it for texture. Then, I arranged and glue them to the center of the white cardstock.
I used two photos for this layout, one circular and the other squared. I mated them with papers from the 6" x 8" paper pad. To enforce the design and style, I distressed the edges of those papers too. Before adding the photos to the layout, I added a strip of green washi tape above the paper strips in the white cardstock.
On the background, I added a little bit of Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide ink and some paint splatters in black and gold. For a vintage look, I added rub-ons under the last strip of paper and around the photos. For the title, I used a foam sticker from the collection in green and red to create contrast and help it stand out from all the colors and patterns in the layout.
To embellish the page, I made little clusters around the photos using die cuts and stickers. Also, I used decorative brads and enamel dots.
On the upper corner, I added a chipboard of Santa in the sleigh. To anchor it, I tear a piece of gingham washi tape and added it to the edge of the white cardstock.
I repeated the same on the bottom edge to balance the page with the gingham design. The last detail I added, was stitching a border around the white cardstock. I had a great time creating this layout, and I
LOVE how it turned out!
Thank you so much for your visit. I hope you too like this layout. and it inspires you to craft. Don't forget to come back soon for more inspiration!
