Cozy Days Layout

Hi!

The beautiful colors of fall are here, and I hope the layout I'm sharing with you today will inspire you to document your memories from the season. It is titled 'Cozy Days,' and I created it using the gorgeous Simple Vintage Autumn Breeze collection by Simple Stories. As I mentioned before, I live on a Caribbean Island, and here we don't have the change of colors like in other places, but that doesn't mean I can't create with the beautiful products of the Autumn Breeze collection. Sometimes, instead of having a colorful fall background, we dress in the fall colors to help the products and the photos coordinate. This time, I'm using two photos of my daughter in Disneyland, California, since we visited the park during the Fall season and the decorations were stunning.

For this layout, I was inspired by the notebook paper with the pumpkins in the bottom corner. Since I love adding layers to my projects, I decided to fussy cut around the notebook paper, removing its background. Then, I used a wood grain paper from Simple Stories to mat it. By doing this, I was able to separate some of the layers to distress their edges and to add foam tape for dimension.

To help the photos pop in the layout, I used a light green plaid paper to mat them. Then, I placed them on top of the notebook paper designs and tilted them for more interest.

I know this layout looks pretty busy, but I can assure you, I added just a few embellishments to it. I took advantage of the design on the notebook and added a die cut ticket to the left side and two rub-on leaves. Then, I embellished with the flowers, decorative brads, hearts, and enamel dots. I used foam stickers and die cuts to give the clusters dimension.

Behind the right photo, I made a pocket to insert the tag with the journaling. Then, I added a ticket, a leaf, and a few small flowers to make the cluster on the right a little bigger. In the top area, I added two more tickets to balance the layout by using the same type of embellishment.

For the title, I used the "Cozy Days" phrase from the foam stickers because it was yellow and perfect for those sweet photos of them. In the photo area, I added a few more phrases by using the die cut tab, and the foam banner.

At the end, I embellished the layout by adding some decorative brads and enamel dots in the cluster areas and by creating two notches on the top and bottom edges of the layout and backing them with a plaid paper from the collection.
