Happiness Layout

Hi! Last month, the owner of Scrapbooking Store contacted me and was very kind to send one of the kits they offer monthly as a subscription. It was a busy month for me, but last week I took some time to create two layouts with the kit. The kit I received features patterned papers and embellishments from Fancy Pants Designs, as well as a cute embellishment from Little Birdie. Let's take a closer look at the layout while I explain my thoughts on creating it.

.
After choosing the three photos of my daughter, I matted them on a light paper that coordinates with her dress. Then, I chose the colored brush strokes paper and placed it on the top area of the layout. This paper lets the photos stand out while it adds color and an artistic look to the page.

In the top area, I added a border punched using a solid paper from the collection. I chose this paper to create contrast with the colored paper and to give the layout a cute design. Then, I added a strip of paper below the strokes. For the title, I used the "Happiness" sticker with foam tape and created a cluster in the area to give it an anchoring place. There you can see a tag, some floral stickers, and the wreath with the bird.

Below the photos, I arranged some tags and labels to fill the space and make the layout more interesting. Then, I embellished them adding a few phrase stickers and twine. I love adding those little details that make the layouts cuter.

To embellish the layout, I made a floral cluster. For that, I used the stickers from the kit and fussy cut a few flowers from the papers to mixed them.

Once I was happy with the arangement of the flowers, I used gold paint to add splatters around the layout.

Finally, I notched the white cardstock on the top and bottom and backed it with a piece of patterned paper. Then, I added staples in the area to hold the paper in place and give it a nice finishing look.

It was challenging for me to create this layout using colors that are out of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed the process and love how it turned out. Thank you very much for your visit. I hope you like this layout, and it inspires you to craft.
