So Much Fun Layout

Hello! Summer started today, and what better way to celebrate it than with a layout full of color and details, featuring the Sunny Days collection by Simple Stories. Have you seen it? This collection is gorgeous and I'm in love with it. It has a wide color palette with a vintage vibe, and it's so versatile. It includes classic summer elements and so much more, like the beautiful clouds and florals I'm using in this layout, making it perfect for many projects.

When looking for photos to create this layout using the Sunny Days collection, I found these two of my daughters playing in the pool. They were having a great time together, so I decided to print both and mat them with a fuchsia paper from the 6x8 pad. I like to use the 6x8 papers because they have small designs that can be seen around the photos, helping them stand out in the layout. I chose the fuchsia paper because it matches the bathing suit and cap of my little one, making the design more cohesive.

Then, I started choosing patterned papers to create the base of my layout. On the upper edge, I added a piece of the yellow paper with suns. Then, on top of it, I added a few clouds with foam tape to make this area look like the sky. Most of the clouds were fussy cut from the same yellow paper, and one is a die cut.

Below, I added a piece of off-white paper with colorful dots and covered the union of them with a strip of blue paper. Since I love mixing and adding patterned paper to my projects, I cut three strips of contrasting designs, notched their bottom edge, and added them vertically behind the main photo to enhance it and have a nice spot for the title.

Below the main photo, I added the title using one of the foam stickers that says, "So much Fun!". It is perfect for the photos and the story I want to document. Below it, I used a zig-zag border to give the title and anchoring placement, and then, I made a cluster using floral die cuts and other cute little details from the collection. You can find there a chipboard butterfly, decorative brads, enamel dots, foam dots, and chipboard hearts. Then, on the right side of the photo, I added a die cut phrase using foam tape and anchored it with a kraft label and embellished with flowers and the same elements I used in the cluster below it.

On the other photo corner, I created another floral cluster, repeating the same embellishments. This makes the layout cohesive and balanced. Under the photo, I added a yellow scalloped border from the die cuts. In the upper edge, I tuck a tab and between the photos, an orange phrase banner from the die cuts.

When creating this layout, I recorded the process for a reel. This is the first one I'm doing, so it is not perfect, but it gives you a good idea of how I created this layout and how gorgeous the Sunny Days collection is. You can find the reel on the Simple Stories Instagram account or on mine @SimplyRebecaRuiz.

Thank you so much for your visit. I hope you like this layout as much as I do, and it inspires you to craft and have fun creating. I had a great time creating this layout, and I can't wait to use this collection again.

Have a wonderful day and come back soon for more inspiration!
