You're Cute Layout

Hello! Today, I'm sharing the layout I created for this week's challenge, which combines products from the Meow and Bow Wow collections by Bella Blvd. I had lots of fun creating this layout.  First, because the color palettes in the collections are very similar, giving me more patterned paper alternatives. Second, because I chose a cut-apart for the title, and third, because I did a little mixed media to create the background. Let's take a closer look at the layout and the beautiful products available in these collections, and how they can be mixed to create your projects.

When planning this layout, I checked all the products from the collections and chose the cut-out title from the Meow collection. Something I love about it is that it can be used for any theme project, not necessarily pet-related. Then, I backed it with two different patterned papers, creating contrast and interest between the words.

After choosing the photos, I backed them with two patterned papers from the collections, giving them more color and interest. Then, I worked with the background. I started by adding Kitsch Flamingo Oxide paint. Once it dries, I stamped a subtle design randomly around the paint using the same ink, and finally, I added tiny dots using textured paste and a stencil from Tim Holtz. I enjoy using mixed media in my projects; they make them unique and more artistic.

 

Before adding anything to the layout, I reduced the white cardstock and framed it with a pink polka dot patterned paper from the Meow collection. After that, I started embellishing the layout using products from the Bow Wow and Meow collections. Near the photos, I created a little cluster to enhance them. There, I mixed different products and designs available in the collections. To help the pictures stand out, I added photo corners to them, using foam tape. Then, I used a red tab on top of the main photo to capture the viewer's attention.

 

On the clusters, you can find hearts and flowers in different sizes and colors. Playing with the textures of the products and sizes is something that makes the design interesting and helps the projects look beautiful.

To the bottom of the layout, I added a strip of green paper to give the dog an anchoring place and create a scene to balance the layout. There you can also find a border sticker. Aren't those embellishments cute?

While creating the layout, I recorded the process to create a reel to share with you.
