Beautiful, Wild & Free Layout

Hi! I love butterflies and florals. You can see them in most of my creations like this layout I'm sharing with you today. This time I'm using the beautiful Simple Vintage Meadow Florals collection by Simple Stories to document this lovely photo of my daughter. She's a charming girl and this collection works perfectly to enhance this photo of her, don't you think? If you want to watch how I made this layout, don't miss the process video at the end of this post.

I started this layout by choosing the photo and the chipboard frame with the gorgeous pink butterfly. I love how they look together. Then I selected the patterned papers that I placed behind it. Both papers are from the 6x8 paper pad. I used them because they have a smaller design that can be seen better in the center of the base paper. For texture and dimension, I tore the bottom part of the papers and distressed all the edges. To create the title, I mixed a chipboard word with a die cut label.

To give this layout the appearance of having various cards behind the photo, I used one layered die cut piece. I cut it in half so it can be seen on both sides of the photo. After that, I added the photo with the card and the papers to the layout. On the right side I added some stamped designs, a floral rub-on, foam butterflies, decorative brads, some enamel dots, and two phrase stickers.

Before gluing the papers, I used a precision knife to cut around the watering can. By doing this, I can place the watering can on top of the papers instead of covering it. In this area I added a chipboard butterfly, a big brad, and a butterfly rub-on.

Since the base paper has a big design in the bottom left corner, I needed to balance it. This is why I added the lavender floral sticker on the opposite corner and a bird cage die cut. I used foam tape behind the die cut to add dimension in this area. Then, on top of the big birdcage I added a similar one that was part of the decorative brads.

On the upper part of the photo, I stamped a text design using the Hickory Smore Distress Oxide ink. The stamps I used are part of the Simple Vintage Meadow Flowers collection. On top of it I added an abstract rub-on design and the flowers. Also in this area, I added two die cut tickets, a chipboard paper clip (from the Simple Vintage Essentials collection), a decorative brad, a foam heart, and some enamel dots.

Now, let's take a look to the process video so you can see all the details about this layout:

This is the finished layout. I hope you like it as much as I do, and it inspires you to craft!
