Sweeet Candy Double Layout

Hello!

Last year I was asked for a collaboration with the Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine. The assignment was to create a double layout using the Sweet & Spooky collection by Doodlebug Designs. I was thrilled with the opportunity and made two different designs. These are the ones that made it into the Fall/Winter issue of the magazine, and they featured five photos of my daughter during Halloween. You can find the other double layout I made here.

For the base, I used white cardstock. Then, I added the patterned papers on top. I enjoy using various papers in my projects, so after selecting a few of them and moving them around, I finished with this arrangement, having the teal floral paper on the middle to make it easier to add the photos there with a contrasting mat so they stand out in between all the colors and patterns.

On the left side layout, I added two square photos and the journaling which I printed on one of the journaling cards you can cut out.

On the top area, I added a few embellishments to create interest in the page and to balance it since the journaling card has a few embellishments and the right-side page is going to have more.

For the right side I used three photos in the central area and created two clusters using different products for texture and interest.

On the bottom is the other part of the title with a few candies and a web. Repeating elements is a great way of creating continuity between the two layouts.

On the top part, I used another web and a few circles to embellish the area with a small cluster. By positioning it there, I made a visual triangle in the layout that helps the viewer look at the pages and feel the balance instead of being overwhelmed with a lot of things everywhere.

The embellishments I used are die cuts, transparencies, stickers, and the shaped enamel pieces which are very helpful to add those small details that help the projects be finished!

This is how the layouts look together. It is a great design you can use to any memories since you can adapt them to any theme.

Thank you so much for your visit. I hope you like these layouts, and they inspire you to craft! Come back soon for more inspiration!
