Hi! I'm delighted to share with you a layout featuring the gorgeous Simple Vintage Flannel Season collection by Simple Stories. My husband travels frequently for work, and since I love scrapbooking, he took photos of the places he visited. The pictures I used for this layout were taken in Utah. He was driving and noticed the river was frozen, so he stopped to take a few photos. I love how they looked and decided to use them with this new winter collection that is stunning and perfect for all winter-themed projects!
One of the things I love about Simple Stories is the variety of products they offer with their collections, like the chipboard frames. This is a great product to start a layout since it is going to help the photo stand out in a beautiful and easy way, since the frames are already embellished. After choosing the frames I wanted to use and the photos, I started adding the other elements to create this layout.
I selected two contrasting patterned papers from the Simple Vintage Flannel Season collection and cut them into circles. Then, I distressed their edges and placed them in the center of the red plaid paper. For additional texture, I stitched a border around the circles before adding them to the layout. Once the background papers were ready, I added two vertical strips of patterned paper to give the photo frames an anchoring place. After that, I used two die cuts from the Ephemera pack to mat the frames and glued them to the layout.
For the title, I used the "Frozen" word and the "frightful, but delightful" phrase, both from the Foam Sticker pack.
To embellish the layout, I mixed products from the collection. On the right side of the photos, I made a little cluster with the Ephemera card, floral die cuts and snowflakes, cardstock stickers, foam stickers, decorative brads, and enamel dots.
For a better finishing look, I tore part of the top and bottom edges of the layout and backed it with a piece of script paper. I love how it looks!
To balance the layout, I created a bigger cluster in the top left corner of the photos. There, I focused on the flower and used different sizes, shapes, and colors to make it interesting and gorgeous! As in all my layouts, I create layers for dimension by using foam tape behind some of the florals. The last touch to finish this layout was adding white paint splatters around the clusters, giving it a more wintery vibe.
Thank you very much for your visit. I hope you like this layout and it inspires you to craft. Please, come back soon for more inspiration. Have a wonderful day!
