Little Moments Captured Layout

Hi!

How are you doing?  I hope you're having a great day! Last week I received the amazing Unforgettable collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio.  This is my first time working with those products, since they are from Australia and I can't find them in the local stores in Puerto Rico.  Because of that, I ordered them as soon as they were available in an online shop from the US. I to have the opportunity to order some of the embellishments, especially the die cuts, before they were sold out and I did it!  A few months ago I was trying to buy their previous collection but I couldn't find any online store in US that had all the papers, die cuts and other embellishments available, so I never bought it.  I was really excited and anxiously waiting for them, and I can tell you, they are so pretty. Those colors make me happy and the designs are really beautiful.  Instantly I was inspired to create some pages using them. This is the first one, but I like it so much that I'm working on other layouts using it.

To create the page, first I covered a white cardstock with clear gesso to help me work the mixed media part.  I used Shimmerz paints in Pink, Refresh Mint and Great Fruit and made some tone on tone paint splatters.  I also added some paint splatters with Shimmerz Miner, Miner 49 er for a little bit of gold and Coal.  I love how the background turned out.  I cut the white cardstock to 11 1/2" x 11 1/2" and used the teal paper. I removed the wreath on the paper using an X-Acto knife in order to save the border and use it as a background in this layout.  You are going to see the wreath in the next layout I'll be sharing soon because I'm still working on it.

Once the background was ready and dried, I used the Love Me Hearts Background cut file from Cut to You Created by Gwen.  If you haven't check her files, go to her website and subscribe to her newsletter.  The files are very pretty, elegant and they cut very clean and easy.  Since I wanted to use two photos of my baby's first haircut, I cut the file into two parts to insert the photos in between, so I didn't cover many hearts of the cut file with the photos.  The file was backed using different papers from the collection and adhered to the layout using foam.

The photos were matted using papers and only a few embellishments were added from the die cuts and clear stickers since the layout was busy with all the patterns used in the hearts and the colors.  The title is from the foam title words and the butterflies were fuzzy cut from one of the papers.  To finish the layout, I added some Nuvo Drops in Silver Crystals, Simply White, Bubblegum Blush and Carnation Pink, used an American Crafts stamp for the date and machine stitched around the border using pink thread.

This is a pink and girly layout that makes me smile every time I see it, I love those colors and having those memories scrapped fills me with joy.  Thank you for visiting my blog, and I hope my work inspires

you to create!

Until soon,
