Christmas Cards Part 1

 Hi!

Are you getting ready for Christmas? I started working with this year's Christmas cards. In the past, I used to prepare them, but I had stopped until now. Last week, when I received the Miss Kate Designs box and saw the cute Santa Claus die cuts, I knew I wanted to use them for Christmas cards. This is a miracle, but this die cuts are so beautiful and perfect for cards that I got inspired. The cards turned out so pretty that just seeing them put a smile in my face, waiting for Christmas. Now the question is, since they are so cute, would I be able to give them away? Let's see what happens...

To create these cards I used products from Miss Kate Designs, if you want to see a short video of the products, click on them:

If you want to purchase these and/or other products from Miss Kate Designs, remember to use my affiliate link and the code REBECA10 for 10% discount on your order of $45 or more, which also qualifies for free shipping within USA and Puerto Rico.

Other products I used are:
  • Cardstock (white, red, and black)
  • Corner rounder punch
  • Scallop edge punch
  • Sewing machine and white thread
  • Ribbons
  • Twine
  • Sentiment stamps
  • Embossing powder in black and white
  • Embossing ink and heat gun
  • Trimmer
  • Rhinestones
  • Stickle in Star Dust
  • Doily
  • Foam Adhesive, glue, tape runner, and trimmer

I prepared six cards, in this post I'm sharing three of them, but I still have a lot of materials to make more projects. The 6" x 6" paper pack includes 64 sheets of paper: 16 different designs; 4 sheets of each design. The die cut packs are a great deal, lots of beautiful designs in the pack. Now, let me show you these beauties!

Merry Christmas (Standing Santa) Card

This card is 5" x 5" when closed, and opens upwards. I used the papers from Oh What Fun and die cuts from Santa Claus. I added rhinestones and a little bit of glitter from Stickles Star Dust on top of the white part of the Christmas trees to embellish them and make them prettier. The die cuts were added with foam adhesive for dimension. The doily is one of those you find in the baking isle but since it was around 4", too big for this design, I cut around it, removing the external lace and just with that, it was the perfect size. Then, I added a circle of blue paper in the middle of it to give Santa a place to stand. I can't remember the manufacturer of any of the stamps I used, they are old and it's been so long since I used them, that I forgot. But you can use any sentiment you want, and if you don't have stamps, you can print them or write them by hand. There is always a way to make things work! The stitching part was made before adding the papers to the white cardstock, this way I have the look of the stitching but the inside of the card is clean. If you don't have a sewing machine, you can stitch by hand or leave it without stitching.

Joy Card

This card is size A2 (5 1/2" x 4 1/4") when closed and it opens towards the top. This means you need to cut the white cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and fold it in half in the 8 1/2" side. For this card, I used the Oh What Fun papers and the Santa Claus die cuts. To give Santa a place to stand, I prepared a tag with cardstock and matted it with paper, then embellished it with ribbon and twine. The Santa was added with foam adhesive and the sentiment was embossed.

Season's Greetings Card

This card is size A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") when closed and it opens sideways. To create this card, I cut all the papers and glued them to the red cardstock, then I machine stitched around them. After that, I added them to the white cardstock. The cute Santa, the stars, and the sentiment were added with foam adhesive. Remember, if you don't have a sewing machine, you can stitch by hand or leave the card without stitching.

These are the first three cards, tomorrow, I'll share with you the other three cards I prepared. So far, do you like them? Thanks for staying with me, if you have any questions, just let me know by leaving a comment and I will answer as soon as I can. Stay safe, and I hope these cards inspire you to craft!
