The Force Layout

Hi!

Having some family time is always good but having it at Disney World is even better! This layout I'm sharing with you today is about our first visit to Galaxy's Edge at Hollywood Studios. We had so much fun because we are fans of Star Wars (especially my husband), and my nephew who joined us is also a fan. To document these memories, I'm using the fantastic Say Cheese Galaxy collection by Simple Stories which is full of great designs and colors. While making the layout I was able to record the process, so if you want to watch me creating this page, don't miss the video at the end of this post.

After checking all the products in this collection, I was inspired by the title "The Force" because I remembered these photos of us posing in front of the Millenium Falcon. Once the photos were ready, I started playing with the papers to help the photos stand out and also add color and interest to the page.

For the background I used a white cardstock. On top I added a piece of the navy paper, the green "circuit board" paper, and the gray paper with stars. To mat the photos, I used a piece of the yellow paper and a piece of the red paper. In this layout I used 5 of the 6 papers available in this collection. As you can see, I love adding patterned papers to my projects!

For the title, I used "The Force" from the foam stickers, then I added a brown arrow with the phrase "The Resistance" also from the foam stickers. To embellish around the title, I used the chipboard lightsabers from the brads pack, a few enamel dots, and a brad. The arrow strip between the navy and green papers is a piece of washi tape, and so is the yellow strip under the gray paper. They are a great addition to the layout since they add more color and interest that help differentiate the different patterned papers used.

I printed the journaling on a die cut card from the Bits & Pieces pack and embellished around it using different materials like foam stickers, chipboard, foam stickers, brads, cardstock stickers, and enamel dots.

On the right side of the photos, I added a few extra embellishments but not many since this is a busy layout with the three photos I'm using, and all the colors displayed. Then, to finish the layout, I added a stitched border around the page and a zig zag border in between the gray paper and the yellow washi strip.

Now that you have a good idea of how I made this layout, I invite you to watch the process video. While watching it, you are going to see how I made changes to this layout until I was happy with it because I started this page without having a complete plan in my mind.

Thank you so much for your visit. I hope you like this layout as much as I do, and it inspires you to craft. May the force be with you and come back soon for more inspiration!
