Hello! The new Crafty Babe collection by Simple Stories is gorgeous, and I wanted to use it with a photo of myself, but since I'm usually scrapbooking alone, I don't have pictures of me crafting. To solve the problem, I arranged the Crafty Babe collection on my desk and took a selfie. As crafters, we are creative people who can solve any issue to use the products we want, no matter if it means a photoshoot session with coordinating cloth colors. Now that my problem was solved, let's take a closer look into this layout.
I chose white cardstock as my base since it allows me to mix the patterned papers without overwhelming the viewer. To give the layout a better finishing look, I matted it with a pink Color Vibe cardstock to create a frame around the page.
Then, I started adding pieces of patterned papers from the collection. In the middle, I used a big piece of the black and white striped paper to have a neutral placement for my photo. After that, I cut the colored striped paper diagonally to give it moment. On top of it, I added the floral paper with the scalloped border design that I cut using a paper punch. Finally, I added the black paper vertically to break all the colors in the layout and for contrast. To mat the photo, I used a hot pink polka dot paper since it contrasts with the black and white design and added a strip of the solid mint paper. I notched the edge of it for moment and interest.
Around the layout, I stitched a black border using the sewing machine, but you can create the same effect with a black pen. For the title, I used the foam words "Crafty Babe" and to give them an anchoring place in the layout, I added a strip of the mint paper with colored hearts. Also, I cut two hearts using the Spellbinder Crafty Babe coordinating die and Color Vibe cardstocks in Pink and Robbin's Egg. Around the title, I embellished using die cuts, stickers, decorative brads, and enamel dots.
On the right upper corner of the photo, I made a cluster using flowers from the Big Bits Die Cut pack. I used foam tape behind them to create dimension in the layout, making the cluster more interesting. Then, I added other details like the stickers, die cuts, enamel dots, and decorative brads to balance the layout by repeating the same products, and also to add textures and interest.
At the end, I added the journaling below the photo. I chose this position to create a visual triangle in the layout that captures the viewers attention and helps to move around the layout.
I had fun creating this beautiful page and documenting my story. The colors in the Crafty Babe collection are fabulous and the designs are the cutest.

I hope you like this layout, and it inspires you to document your story too!
Have a wonderful day and come back soon for more inspiration.
