Scrapbook Retreat Layout

Hello! Scrapbooking with friends is the best. It doesn't mean you are going to craft a lot, but it surely means you are going to have lots of fun. Last year, during the Summer Scrap Camp in Puerto Rico I was able to meet new friends and connect with so many people that I haven't see in a long time. It was an amazing weekend, and I can't wait for this year's event, but in the meantime, let me share with you this layout I created with the beautiful Let's Scrapbook collection by Bella Blvd.

After choosing the photos and matting them with the blue polka dot paper from the Bella Besties 6" x 6" Paper Pad, I started selecting the papers I wanted to use. This time, I'm using a white cardstock as my background and placing the photos to the left side using strips of paper to enhance them. I chose three different patters from the 12" x 12" papers: red with hearts, lime with dots, and yellow/white squares. For texture, I distressed the edges of the papers and stitched a white border around each of them.

Before adding the papers to the layout, I used Distress Oxide in Kitch Flamingo to give a little bit of color to the background. Once it was dry, I added paint splatters in black.

After the papers and photos were added to the layout, I started embellishing the page. For that, I fussy cut a few circles from one of the papers and arranged them on the left side of the photos using foam tape behind some of them for dimension and interest.

To make the layout have a better finishing look, I reduced the white cardstock and matted it over a black polka dot paper from the Let's Scrapbook collection and stitched a black border around the layout. On the upper right corner, I added a die cut garland using foam tape for dimension and glued the journaling on the red paper.

For the title, I used die cuts from the collection, all with foam tape on the back. Then, I embellished around it using icons from the die cuts, cardstock stickers, chipboards, and puffy stickers. To give the title an anchoring point, I cut a strip of pink paper from the 6" x 6" Bella Besties Paper Pad and placed a scalloped border sticker on top of it. Doing this helps the title stand out and makes it part of the layout.

It was fun creating this layout and remembering all the good moments we had during that weekend!

Thank you so much for your visit! I hope you like this layout, and it inspires you to craft. Come back soon for more inspiration.
