Hi! It's time to celebrate International Scrapbook Day with a Simple Stories Instagram Hop. To be part of the hop you just need to visit them on Instagram and follow the rules to participate of the giveaways while you get lots of inspiration from the Design Team. To create my project, I chose the Simple Vintage Woodlands collection. I'm in love with how pretty this collection is, and the colors are stunning!
When I was looking for a photo, I found this one of my daughter and dad in the lake. We were on our way to the forest when he stopped the car to take a closer look at the lake. This moment of him holding her in his arms while in the log was so darling that I took a photo to preserve it. Now, I can document this story with the amazing Simple Vintage Woodland collection, since they are a perfect match. After choosing the photo, I matted it using a burgundy paper and a cream paper. Then, I matted it again in a piece of blue paper from the 12 x 12 kit. For texture, I distressed the edges of all the papers.
Behind the photo, I added two strips of patterned paper in pink and green. For movement, I notched the bottom of the strips. To help the photo stand out, I cut a piece of the Aspen White Color Vibe paper to give the layout the wood texture and make it look more rustic. For the title I chose the "Explore" word from the foam stickers.
Since this collection is so pretty, I took some time to choose a paper for my background. After trying various options, I chose the paper with the fox in the bottom right corner and made a frame out of it by cutting with a precision knife around the fox, leaves, and flowers. I added foam tape behind the frame and backed it with one of the coordinating Basics papers from the collection.
To balance the layout, I made a little cluster in the upper left side of the photo. For that, I used die cuts and stickers from the Simple Vintage Woodland collection. Behind some of them, I added foam tape to create layers and dimension on the layout. Then, to guide the viewer into the photo, I added a chipboard arrow pointing to my husband and daughter and used crochet thread to make a bow.
The last details added to this layout were the little embellishments like the butterflies, hearts, decorative brads, enamel dots and paint splatters.
When I finished this layout, I was in love with it. It turned out really pretty and makes the photo stand out. I can't wait to create other layouts with this collection because all the designs and products are AMAZING, and I want to use them all.
