Hi! It's been a long time since I created a layout for fun. I've been so busy with classes, design team requirements, and everyday life that I had no time to create, but last weekend, I left everything on the side, took some time for myself, and made two layouts. For this one, I used the Flower Garden collection by Simple Stories. Last year, we went on a weekend getaway to Utuado, Puerto Rico, and visited Café Tres Picachos. It was a great experience, and the place is lovely, with beautiful outdoor scenery, perfect for photos. In this one, my oldest daughter is in front of the gnomes' house, so using this collection was the best choice since it has flowers, houses, and gnomes.

When I was checking the collection to choose the products I wanted to use, the pink ledge paper with the big florals captured my attention. It is so pretty that I can't resist using it, but I wanted to do something to the paper, not just cut around the flowers. This is when I decided to tear the paper diagonally and backed it with the mint polka dot paper to add texture and interest in the photo.
Then, I matted the photo using papers in contrasting colors to help it stand out in the layout. This is why I chose the green/yellow plaid and the pink polka dot papers from the 6x8 pad. I distressed the edges of all the papers in the layout to give them texture. For the title, I used the "hello spring" phrase from the foam stickers. Before adding the photo to the layout, I used a precision knife to cut around the flowers in the paper. By doing this, I was able to fit the showcase the flores on top of the photo.
Then, I started embellishing the layout using different products from the Tea Garden collection. I enjoy mixing product because they make the layout more interesting and add different textures. For example, the birdhouse is a cardstock sticker with foam tape for dimension, the butterflies are from the foam stickers and the cardstock stickers, and the sun is a decorative brad.
On the upper left corner of the photo, I made a floral cluster to balance the layout, helping the photo stand out. Here I used floral die cuts with foam tape for dimension, and added a few foam stickers, decorative brads, and enamel dots.
On top of the photo, I used two cardstock stickers from the 12 x 12 sheet. As a small but lovely detail, I used Nuvo Drops on the center of the salmon flowers and tulips.
I enhanced the white dots on the big mint flower with Stamperia White Contour paint.
I forgot to mention the die cut gnome I used in the title, to enhance the theme on the photo. I just love how cute it is.
That's all for this layout, thank you so much for your visit. I hope you like this layout, and it inspires you to craft. Don't forget to come back soon for more inspiration.
