Love Being Your Mom Layout

Hello!

Yesterday was Mother's Day and I wanted to scrapbook, but I was not able to do it, so today, I woke up early and took some time to create this layout I'm sharing titled "Love Being Your Mom". To create this layout, I used the Mother's Day Simple Set by Simple Stories. This is a mini kit with six patterned papers (2 of each design) and a 12" x 12" sticker sheet. It is a beautiful kit and I definitely wanted to use this to document a few photos of me and my daughters. Now, let's talk about how I made this layout, and if you want to watch how I made it, check the process video at the end of this post.

After printing my three photos into 2 3/4" x 2 3/4", I matted them with white cardstock and then with a piece of the blue paper with colored hearts. Then, I decided how to add the papers to the layout, to create contrast between them, so they can be seen easily. Before adding the papers to the layout, I stitched a white border around them using the sewing machine.

Behind the photos, I added a piece of yellow paper with notched edges to give them more interest. After that, I added them to the pink ledger paper.  For the background, I used a white cardstock and placed a piece of the floral paper on the left side.

To help the central part of the layout stand out from the background, I added four strips of the pink polka dot paper. For more texture, I distressed the edges of all the papers before adding them to the layout. To embellish the layout, I fussy cut a few pieces from cut apart paper, like the card with the journaling, the swans, a few hearts, and the yellow flower on the right side of the title.

On top of the photos, I punched a tab out of a 4" x 6" card that had this contrasting color, then, I added a phrase sticker, a paper clip, flowers, and enamel dots. I looked into the Color Vibes enamel dots to find some matching colors and used the Summer, Spring, and Bold packs.

For the title, I mixed stickers from different collections and type of products. From the Wildflower collection I used the "Love" word which is a foam sticker and the letters from "Being Your" which are from the sticker book. The big "Mom" sticker is from the Mother's Day Simple Set.

It was a quick layout to assemble and love having all the patterned papers from the simple set in one layout. Now, take a look into the process video to watch me create this page:
