Hello! Hope you are having a wonderful day! I'm very happy to share with you my latest layout, using the stunning Simple Vintage Color Essentials collection by Simple Stories. If you don't know about this collection, you need to check it out. This is a big collection with three different paper packs and lots of embellishments from die cuts, stickers, rub-ons, chipboards, and more! The best part is you can use it alone or use it to complement any other collection since it has all the colors of the rainbow. For this layout, I chose four colors to work with. The red since my daughter was wearing a big red flower on her head, the yellow since the shirt and flower have some yellow, and the blue and black to match the shirt. Let's take a closer look at the layout while I explain how I made it.
One of the paper packs available with this collection is the big tags papers. I cut three of the tags to mat my photos and arranged them at different heights for interest. In the hole I added a piece of white crochet thread to create the bows. This adds texture and dimension to the page and make the tags more elegant. Once the photos and tags were ready, I added some color and texture to the background by using the
Simple Vintage Berry Fields Basketweave Stencil and the Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke ink.
Then, I started embellishing the layout. For that, I used a big die cut from the Ephemera pack. The pieces in this pack are gorgeous and make the work so easy since they are designed to looked like a cluster but are only one piece of die cut. To make it work with my idea, I fussy cut it a little bit because I wanted it to be slightly smaller than the photo. On top of it, I added two buttons (red and gray) from the sticker book and a chipboard heart. Also, on the bottom part of the die cut, I added a circle with a clock detail, also from the sticker book. On the top, I added a blue circle sticker and a yellow chipboard butterfly. By adding just a few details I made the cluster even prettier, and it only took me a few minutes!
After having the central part of the layout ready, I wanted to add something to the top and bottom. For that, I fussy cut a scalloped border from the red paper on the collection kit and added it to the top. Then, below it, I added a yellow gingham border from the sticker book. To embellish this area on top of the photos, I added a big red rub-on butterfly, a red heart, and a yellow butterfly from the sticker book. To make the butterfly sturdier, I added it to a piece of cardstock, then fussy cut it. On the tags, I added a few chipboard labels and a blue foam butterfly.
On the bottom part, I added a strip of the red gingham paper and a black border from the sticker book. Also there, I added a mushroom I fussy cut from the same red paper I used for the upper border. For the title, I used the foam titles and the Warm Type Keys foam alphas. To finish this area, I added a big yellow rub-on butterfly, two die cut butterflies (red and blue), and the small blue butterfly is from the sticker book. On the yellow tag, I added a yellow label cluster from the sticker book, a yellow sticker phrase, and a yellow chipboard heart.
The last details I added to this layout were the enamel dots from the collection. I used the warms and the cool, then diluted a little bit of black acrylic paint with water, and using a brush I made a few paint splatters around the clusters.
In the next photo you can appreciate some of the different textures you can find in this layout like the stenciling, chipboards, papers, foams, die cuts, paint, and the distressed edge on the paper. Those small details always make a big difference, so don't hesitate to mix products. You are going to have fun and your projects are going to look amazing!
That's all for this layout. I had lots of fun creating this page and adding all the products.
Thank you so much for your visit. I hope you like and enjoy this layout as much as I do, and it inspires you to craft! Come back soon for more inspiration!
