Tropical Vibes Layout

Hello crafty friend! I'm very happy to share this colorful and fun layout I designed using the Just Beachy collection by Simple Stories. This collection is so amazing that I don't want to stop using it. The vibrant and beautiful colors, and all the fun embellishments make it a must have for every scrapbooker. It is perfect to document all your summer memories at the beach, pool, vacations, road trips, and anything you can imagine. Every little detail in this collection is wonderful, so I ended up using many different embellishments. As you can see, it was hard to stop adding them to the page! Now, let's talk about the layout and how I made it.

After choosing the photo, I saw the cute lifesaver from the chipboard frames. I knew it would be a great addition to the layout since the photo had red tones. To make it more amazing, I prepared a shaker in the center of it with glitter and sequins of similar colors. Then, to help the photo stand out in the layout, I matted it with a piece of Yellow Color Vibe cardstock, then with the diagonal stripes paper from the 6" x 8" pad. Since Lilo was wearing a leaves dress, I decided to use the leaves paper as a frame, so I reduced the white cardstock to 11 1/2" x 11 1/2" and matted it with a black cardstock.

On the back of the photo, I decided to add a few pieces of patterned papers. The blue paper with waves is from the 6" x 8" paper pad, and the others are from the 12" x 12" papers. The scalloped border was punched in a piece of Flamingo Color Vibe cardstock. Have you tried these coordinating cardstocks from Simple Stories? They are a perfect addition to any project. If you haven't tried them, give them an opportunity, you are going to love them! Before adding all the papers, I stitched a white border around them using the sewing machine.

Once the papers were ready, I started embellishing the layout. For that, I added the lifesaver with foam tape and made two floral clusters on it, one bigger than the other. I made a third, largest cluster on the upper corner of the photo. To create the clusters, I used the floral die cuts, foam stickers, chipboards, rub-ons, enamel dots, and decorative brads. Behind some of them and in strategic areas, I added foam tape to give them dimension.

For the title, I used two foam word stickers on the right side of the photo. I mixed these two words in different fonts and colors to make it more interesting.

Take a closer look into the cluster and the lifesaver shaker. Aren't they cute? Adding little details to the projects is something I love and enjoy.

Thank you so much for your visit. I hope you like and enjoy this layout as much as I do, and it inspires you to craft! Come back soon for more inspiration!
