Hi! Summer is around the corner, so let's have fun with the new Just Beachy collection by
Simple Stories. I love everything about this collection. The colors are very bright and pretty and it has so many different themes that you can document all your summer memories with only this collection. From beach and pool photos to vacations, getaways, road trips, and more. For this layout, I wanted to document an old photo from us on Disney Blizzard Beach, but I also wanted to use the beautiful paper with the big floral cluster on the corner. After having those two elements ready, I started creating my idea and this is the result. If you want to know how I made this layout, stay with me during this post and check the close-up photos.
I love having flower clusters in my layouts, and with this beautiful paper most of the work was already done. To let the florals embellish the page without being covered by the papers and photo, I used a precision knife (X-Acto) to cut around it. By doing this, I was able to fit the patterned papers under it and a part of the frame.
To help the photo stand out in this layout, I decided to use a yellow Color Vibe cardstock on the back, then started adding different patterned papers from the Just Beachy collection on top of it. The blue paper with the little flowers is from the 6" x 8" paper pad, but the orange and green with palms design is from the 12" x 12". For more interests, I notched the left edge of those strips of paper. Then, to make the photo pop, I used the pink chipboard frame from the collection to enhance the photo. This frame has a little floral cluster on the bottom right corner. I positioned it near the paper cluster to help them blend.
To balance the layout, I embellished the upper left corner of the photo by using stickers, die cuts, chipboards, tags, designer brads, and enamel dots, all from the Just Beachy collection.
On the lower right side of the photo, I added a chipboard chameleon, a chipboard leaf, a few enamel dots, and a designer brad.
For the title, I used the "Vacation" word from the foam sticker and yellow twine to embellish the tags.
The layout was lacking some black details. To balance it, I drew a border around the yellow cardstock and added a few paint splatters using black acrylic paint diluted with water and a brush. With that, I finished this fun and colorful layout, and I love how it turned out!
Thank you so much for your visit. I hope this layout inspires you to craft! Come back soon for more inspiration!
